Local Pub Guides

Real Ale around CavershamLocal CAMRA members have put together a selection of free guides to local pubs, covering the areas around Woodley, Twyford and Caversham.

Real Ale around Woodley and Twyford

The first guides were launched in February 2007 as part of National Pubs Week. The first covered Woodley, the second pubs in the vicinity of Twyford. They're currently being revised and so are not available for download, but you may be able to pick up a copy from one of the pubs featured.

Real Ale around Caversham

The Caversham guide was an altogether more ambitious affair and was launched in October 2008. It features 15 pubs and a brewery, and covers Caversham itself plus Caversham Heights, Emmer Green, Playhatch, Dunsden Green and even a nearby pub south of the Thames. Printing costs were kindly met by the Loddon Brewery of Dunsden Green.

Real Ale on the 127

Next in the series was a guide to real ale on the 127 bus route. This route links Reading to Maidenhead via several villages with several fine pubs, 16 of which feature in the guide. The guide was launched in October 2009 and was financially supported by Thames Travel, who operate the 127 route.

Beer By Bus No.4

In a slightly different vein, CAMRA collaborated with local bus operator Courtney Coaches in 2009 to put together a guide to real ale pubs on the no.4 route, which links Maidenhead to several otherwise isolated villages in East Berkshire. 8 pubs feature on this guide, which is available to download (PDF, 1.4 Mb) from the Courtney Coaches website.
