2006-05-30
Charity benefits from Reading Festival drinkers.

Drinkers at the recent Reading Beer and Cider Festival raised £236.81 for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

This year there was a charity beer brewed by local CAMRA member Chris Bingham. For various boring tax reasons he isn't allowed to "sell" it so asked for donations instead, and Chris chose the Air Ambulance as his nominated charity. The beer raised £135.15 and other collecting boxes at the glasses return stand raised the grand total to £236.81.

Binghams Hoppy IPA sold very quickly and was only available for a couple of hours. Despite that it gained two votes in the public vote for Beer of the Festival!
