A small Georgian pub with a big beer range, slap-bang in central Reading. Order your drink and take in the thousands of pump clips attached to every available surface - each representing one of the 6,000+ different beers that have been served up since 1992. A local shop-window for West Berkshire Brewery, it's fair to say that the choice of guest ales will be vastly different every time you come in!

German brewster; the stainless steel brewing plant, visible from the bar, is very much a feature of the establishment. Beer is served chilled, unfiltered, and unpasteurised, direct from conditioning tanks. The large wood-fired oven bakes 24 types of pizza. Pasta dishes and gourmet sausages are also available ? and, for the adventurous, 1kg pots of mussels!

A friendly Hop Back pub selling that brewery's full range of ales. The two guest ales come from Downton Brewery (which works closely with Hop Back) and the newlyopened Two Bridges Brewery, located in Caversham. Why not try your hand at Bar Billiards or darts whilst sampling your beer? Daily newspapers are provided by the bar.

After a somewhat 'up and down' history in recent years, we are pleased to see this local favourite returned to stability. A small, welcoming local community pub with a comfortable interior. It has a tastefully decorated frontroom bar, with a darts board for your entertainment (the pub now has a darts team). Sunday lunches available 12:30 to 16:30. Regular live music nights and occasional informal poker nights are held.

The pub, resplendent in a green tiled frontage, sits nicely in the context of a terraced street. The interior features a rare through corridor, connecting the two separate bars with the front door and access to the rear garden and covered area. There is a small seating area at the front. A rare local outlet for Harveys. Football is popular here!

A large and lively local pub tucked away in the residential streets between Tilehurst Road and Oxford Road. It has a large interior divided into four spacious seating areas. Food is available until 21.00, with a choice of pub specials. There is a large, attractive outside drinking area at the rear of the pub. Occasional live music nights are held, and there is a keen football following, with two large screens showing the matches.

A change of ownership in 2007 transformed this pub from an unspectacular local boozer with no real ale into a Real Ale destination venue ? and local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2009! 12 handpumps provide a varied selection of beers ? mild to the right, rising in gravity to stouts and strong beers on the left. There is a roaring fire when appropriate. Darts and an assortment of table games are available. Occasional live music. Food is simple and wholesome.
