This riverside Fullers tied house has gone from strength to strength and now regularly has six beers. Ricky, the recently appointed manager, is chuffed with his success and plans to add some extra guest beers during the Ale Trail. Home-cooked food is served until 21:00, with a roast on Sundays. Live music nights and Sky TV entertain, with a real fire to keep you warm on colder days.

This is part of Woodford Park Leisure Centre, operated by Woodley Town Council. Don't expect oak beams, leaded windows or sofas. Its cafe style chairs and tables here! Truly part of the local community, the sports TV is usually on (as one would expect at a sports centre), food is served all day and dogs are welcome. Full disabled access. 5 to 10 mins walk (past the Bowls Club) from bus 13/13A.

Originally a small beer house, the former restaurant extension has been opened out during a recent makeover, reinvigorating the interior. Full meals are served up to an hour before closing, or you can order individual courses as snacks. There may be weekend BBQs when the weather warms up. Bus 133 Mon to Sat daytime.

The Crown, in the centre of the village, dates from the coaching era when Church Street was part of the main London to Bath road. A single bar is effectively divided into three parts, each with its own character, but with an open feel to it. Food from the Chinese takeaway at the rear can be eaten on the premises. The garden is very pleasant on a sunny day. Bus 1, N26, or by rail to Theale.

An attractive thatched pub partly rebuilt, partly restored after severe damage to the original building. Its convenient setting on the main road and adjacent to the Kennet and Avon Navigation make it a good place to relax, or as a base for a country walk. It has comfortable seating area and huge garden. Food served until one hour before closing. Buses 2 and 2A stop right outside the pub.

About five minutes walk from the village centre, this pub was originally three cottages, one of which was a wood turners, hence the pubs name. English and Thai food is served daily 12:00 to 14:30, and also Mon to Sat evenings 18:00 to 22:00. There is a large garden to the rear. A dartboard is available. Bus 2 stops nearby.

Situated on the old Basingstoke road, this early 17th Century pub has two front doors leading to a couple of bars. Home to the large canine mascot of the London Irish rugby club, it can be very busy when there is a home game of rugby or soccer at the Madejski stadium. Food available at lunchtime and in the evening until 21:00. Bus 72, 111.
