The Greyhound is a Grade II listed pub of 12th century construction, which became a wayside public house in 1625, owned by the monks of Reading Abbey. It offers well-kept ale alongside great food. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and inviting and the real fire is very welcome on a cold day. A word of caution for anyone walking there, the safest route is from Pangbourne (about a mile away) as both the road to Theale and Sulham Hill are treacherous during the day and even worse after dark!
